Paula Cole Picture
Paula Cole (born April 5, 1968 in Rockport, Massachusetts, USA) is an American singer and songwriter. Among her hits include "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone," "Me," "I Am So Ordinary," "I Believe In Love," and the theme to the WB's hit series "Dawson's Creek," "I Don't Want to Wait." Cole released her debut album, Harbinger, in 1994 with Imago Records. She so entranced the industry with her vocals that she was asked to tour as an opening act for Peter Gabriel; she also appeared with Melissa Etheridge to sing a duet on VH1 though she was not well-known at the time. Harbinger featured songs dwelling on Cole's personal experience with discrimination and unhappiness. The songs were musically lush but driven and bleak.

Road To Dead Lyrics

Paula Cole

Dead dead dead dead walking down to the road to dead (9 times)
Welcome to the church of me
Where they stand in a line ? ? ?
With water from my eyes
And a song for comfort
You say its jesus christ
Well, I feel like him
I feel one, two, three
Nails through me and
Four through the heart
Chorus:
You walk the road to resurrection
And I walk the road to dead
And Im giving you my devotion
But I walk the road to dead
I held you
I wrapped you in the heat of my hand
And prayed for us
Now I want you back
As you walk away from my love
You need need
Strength is threatening
I filled you will faith
And that filled me with pain
What the hell am I doing
Falling in love with pain again and again and again and again
Chorus (2 times)
Dead dead dead dead walking down to the road to dead (8 times)
