Paula Cole Picture
Paula Cole (born April 5, 1968 in Rockport, Massachusetts, USA) is an American singer and songwriter. Among her hits include "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone," "Me," "I Am So Ordinary," "I Believe In Love," and the theme to the WB's hit series "Dawson's Creek," "I Don't Want to Wait." Cole released her debut album, Harbinger, in 1994 with Imago Records. She so entranced the industry with her vocals that she was asked to tour as an opening act for Peter Gabriel; she also appeared with Melissa Etheridge to sing a duet on VH1 though she was not well-known at the time. Harbinger featured songs dwelling on Cole's personal experience with discrimination and unhappiness. The songs were musically lush but driven and bleak.

Tiger Lyrics

Paula Cole

Where do I put this fire
This bright red feeling
This tiger lily down to mouth
He wants to grow to twenty feet tall
Chorus:
Ive left bethlehem
I feel free
Ive left the girl I was supposed to be and
Someday Ill be born
Im so tired of being shy
Im not that girl anymore
Im not that straight a anymore
I want to sit with my legs wide open and
Laugh so loud that the whole damn restaurant
Will turn and look at me and say
Look at the tiger jumping out of her mouth
Chorus
No more sex-starved teachers
Trying to touch my ass
I can finally be a teenager at age twenty-six
Go to hell lions, tigers, and bears
Im not afraid of you anymore
And my fear broke apart like fifty balloons
And Im thrown around the room like party confetti now
Chorus
Someday Ill be born
Someday someday someday Ill be born
Someday someday someday Ill be born
High and noon (13 times)
